We're getting excited about trick and/or treating

I wonder what happens when you light that paper bag on fire?
I'm not worried, no one will recognize me.

Devo - Everybody's Pal

It's been three years today since Devo lost his fight with cancer. I have to say that time (and Lady) have helped smooth the emotional rough edges of his departure. I still think about him every day. That's just how it is with our heart dogs. You all know what I mean, so I'll just get to the nostalgic pictures and say thanks to all our friends who stop by to see what's happening with Lady and/or what might have been on my mind that day. If you happen to have your speakers on, I'd like to thank Waylon and Roy for writing the perfect songs.

Shout out to Ben (the gentle one) and his peeps for turning me on to this wonderful observation by Cheryl Zuccaro.

“It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.”

More pictures dug from the dusty bins....

Sunny 1989, 3 years old. That's his dog house off to the right, but he never went inside. Spent his time lounging on the roof surveying his kingdom. Very kissable muzzle, right Kimmy?

Wow, being a puppy is so much fun, chasing the ball and exploring the furniture and, and, and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Devo - 1997, 8 weeks old

Cosmo in 1997, 6 years old. Picture taken just above the dam on the Spokane river. She'd pose for pictures anywhere, anytime. Quite the princess. She spent half her life with Sunny and the other half with Devo. Easiest dog we've ever had.

Two special Golden friends

This Golden face belongs to Lucky Luke. He is in need of some special healing vibes from everyone who has a little to spare. The Luke is a berry, berry special  boy who is hurting right now and needs everybody to cross their paws for him. Stop by to give some encouragement to The Luke and The Mom.

Our next friend is called "Courage". He has been operating with a bum leg for some time now and its just not getting any better. His story is on Gentle Ben's blog 'cause Courage is Ben's "Fairy Dawg Son". These are two very fine rescue stories.

If you're done sweeping my patio....

....could we play. Here's my rope and it won't throw itself!

In this picture you can see Lady's doggy door. Can't imagine having a dog and NOT having a dog door. She might of had one in her past life, because when she arrived at her new home, she immediately knew what it was for.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Best Pee-Mail Kiosk

They even painted BONES on this hydrant. Lady spent 5 minutes snoofing this Kiosk while we waited for the doggy bath place to open. She was disapponted because - she was out of ammo!! "Damn"

OK, I'm sure you've guessed that these are Golden images from KT's collection of everything Golden.

So....here is Lady, enjoying her Happy Days....slim, trim and energetic. "Are there any more of those punkin bones left"?

Outstanding treats - Thank You Sugar

Pumpkin crunchy treats arrived, just in time for Oktoberfest. They are very yummy and go good with German Marzen (that's traditional Oktober Beer). Dad will take care of the beer part Lady.

Lady posing by her package of dog cookies, courtesy of the Chicago Rock Star Pooch (that would be Sugar). These are called Pumpkin Bones and are a wheat free all natural dog treat.

The little fella peeking in on things is Lady's new Piggy toy. When we were in Leavenworth last week, Lady wandered through a pet store (A Paw Above) and decided she was taking Piggy home. When you pull Piggy's tail, a cord unravels about 2 feet so you can fling him to be retrieved. It's very clever AND well made. It's LADY approved.

This toy is called "Fling It" and comes in Pig and Squirrel.
