Lady's menu!

A few of you wondered what we were feeding Lady that helped her lose some weight plus increased her energy and playfulness. Lady eats once a day around 5PM. She gets 3 cups of kibble, 1-fish oil capsule and extra Trader Joe's Glucosamine - Chondroitin for dogs. Here's what the food looks like:

Castor-Pollux is the brand - Lady thinks it's "gobble it up good"
There is a Petco very close to home in Seattle, so we get it there. I would prefer to buy from a small business, but nobody stocks it. We do have a small business source in Phoenix (more about that later in another post).

Same Fish Oil as the KT takes!
We let Lady have fresh fruits and vegetables as a treat (mainly apples and carrots). Occasionally cheese or yogurt. She'll eat just about anything from your hand (but she's not a pig about it). No feeding from the table and NO Cheerios! The only things we have found that does not agree with her are Salmon Oil and Dental Chewies from Costco called "Checkups".

Wow - three cups sounds like sooooo much to moi heheh! Except I don't know about the once a day feeding, cause I know JUST when breakfast time is! My sis, Avalon, gets so much more than me however - about what Lady gets! We probably need to investigate the fish oil - know that would be good! Thanks for the info!
Hugs xoxoxo

Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,

Woof! Woof! Thanks for the info KT. really surprised that Lady eat 3 cups once a day. WOW! I eat 2x n 1 cup each. 5 years ago my family change my food to 0%grain caused of my allergies. Consider as senior (but not officially) last Jan based on vet suggestion I moved to the senior bag. Doing well ... My family is thinking to change into a different brand also 0%grain but better protein content but have to check with thew vet. I only get my grain through my mom's doggie treats (we package some for retail purposes - would like to send you some samples - email us your mailing address). Will probably blog about my "menu" later this year. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

Oh Ive been around the rosie with trying to find the right food for my babies. Ive spent a small fortune. Kealani can stand to lose a few pounds but we always come back to Natural balance duck and sweet potatoe. Im so strict as to what goes into the food. So, Im going to look into this, thanks for sharing your info!!! Love, Valerie

I am so glad you wrote about this dog food.. We have been wanting to switch and I keep seeing that one at our local store.. Foreman's here in Colleyville.

She is 37 lbs and right now I feed her 3 times a day.. 1/2 cup each time and a few snacks along the way... she walks a few miles a day so that helps when she has a few to many snacks!

Thanks again for the information
